Transportation Changes Only primary parent / guardian may request transportation changes . All transportation changes must be made in person or emailed with the enrolling adult ’ s identification and signature to 678-594-8269 before 4:00 p . m . When possible , transportation changes should be made a day prior to the change . In the event of an emergency , parents and or guardians may contact the school directly . Students can only be released to an adult who is listed and has the rights checked on the student ’ s profile with valid identification . The enrolling adult / guardians should make changes through ParentVue to add / remove adults who have permission to pick up the child . Therefore , it is critical that the emergency contact information and telephone numbers are accurate in Smitha ’ s student records . If any corrections need to be made to the student information record , only enrolling parents may do so during school business hours 8:30 a . m . to 4:45 p . m . Additionally , any changes to the address must be submitted through ParentVue and two forms of documentation for proof of residency are required ( ownership or lease agreement AND utility bill ). Telephone calls or emails are not accepted to enable a student ’ s early dismissal for safety reasons .
A child who is riding on another student ’ s bus must have the following :
1 . A note from a parent / guardian requesting that his / her child be allowed to ride home with a child on another bus .
2 . A note from a parent / guardian acknowledging that another child is riding home on his / her child ’ s school bus . 3 . All notes are verified by the front office personnel . 4 . Students should pick up their bus pass at dismissal from the front office counter .
All bus transportation changes must be submitted to the front office by 10:00 a . m . Bus change requests will be verified for authenticity . Bus change requests are subject to the availability of seats . Bus change requests for the purposes of social activities will not be honored .
Messages to Students In our quest to provide engaging instruction in the classroom daily , students will not be called out of class for messages , telephone calls , or to retrieve items . All student emergencies will be handled on an individual basis . Please be mindful that contacting a student via text message can cause a class disruption and result in student consequences . For emergencies , call the school directly . Parents , refrain from texting your child while he / she is in school .
Deliveries The front office staff is not able to make delivery of items such as balloons , flowers , stuffed animals , gifts , birthday cakes , cupcakes , etc . to students . These types of deliveries create unnecessary interruptions to the learning environment .
To protect instructional time , we will not call students from class to retrieve school related items such as flash drives , projects or school assignments ; however , we will
