Fun confidential FACE MASKS By: Erin DeKraker You are finally home from school! Awesome, it is time to relax a bit and spend some quality time with your besties. Why not try an all-natural face mask to release some stress and freshen your face? Here, are a couple of masks that are really simple and made of only good ingredients that you can probably find in your kitchen. Remember before you begin either mask, make sure your face is clean and dry. Oh yeah and don't forget to wear your cutest headband or barrettes to keep your hair off your face. Naner Mask Bananas are great for snacks and are pretty good for your skin too. Bananas naturally remove excess oils from your skin and have antibacterial properties that can clear up acne prone skin. Try the Naner mask, if you or your besties are prone to oily skin by the end of the day. First gather up a few supplies: ? ? ? ? ? One ripe or over-ripe banana Honey (one Tbsp) Bowl Fork Towel Now that you have your supplies at hand, let’s get started! Peel a ripe banana, place it in the bowl, and use the fork to mash it up. Once you have a nice banana puree, add a table spoon of honey and stir until you get a nice even spreadable consistency. For mixing ease, you may want to heat honey just a bit before you add it to the banana puree. Perfect! Now spread the yummy smelling mask onto you r clean face. Let the mask sit for about fifteen minutes and then wipe away with a warm towel. Yogi Mask If your skin tends to be on the dry and flaky, side try a yogurt and egg white mask. The two ingredient mask will replenish the skin with soothing yogurt and keep your pores refined with egg whites. First gather these ingredients and supplies: • 2 Tbsp plain yogurt (not flavored) in either Greek or regular style • Two Eggs (use the whites only) • Bowl • Fork •Towel First, begin by separating the egg whites from the yolks. Use the edge of the bowl to crack the egg. Then move the egg yolk from side to side of cracked halves. The whites should shift out into the bowl (repeat for second egg). Either discard unused yolks or place them in a small container for a yummy recipe later. Now add 2 Tbsp of yogurt to egg whites and whisk with the fork. Mix well until the mask has an even consistency. Next using your fingers apply the creamy mixture over your face keeping it away from the eyes. Allow the mask to dry for five to ten minutes. You will notice your skin will feel tighter as it dries this is your pores shrinking up; smaller pores will give your face a smooth clean look. Once mask is dried remove it with a warm wet towel. Awwww…doesn’t that feel good? Your face is revitalized and clean. Now there is nothing between your smiling face and the rest of the world.
