PANELS & prequalification schemes

ow do I find out if we're on a panel?

This is a constant question that I am asked.

There is a simple answer:

All Central panels & prequalification schemes, are listed on a database on the Central portal.

There is one major issue with this system, however, if the panel managers don't update the database, we do not know which panels we have been successful on, or if a panel manager has changed due to someone leaving.

With more panels and prequalification schemes coming out every week it is crucial we keep on top of them. Even our construction partners like JHG and Fulton Hogan are asking for panel arrangements now to team with them.

But that's the easy part...

What do we do once we get on to a panel?

It is the panel manager's responsibility to stay in contact with the client whose panel (or scheme) we are on. With the new Client Connect being released soon, managing this process should be a lot easier.

Just because we have been successful at qualifiying does not mean that we will be given work.

Unfortunately getting on to a panel is only half the battle, if we do not maintain consistent communication with the client, we may as well not have worried about qualifying. Monthly contact is required at a minimum.

Just this week RMS has released all 38 of their panel categories open for tender. SMEC is applying for 33 of the 38! Listen out to see which ones we get on to - our business relies on these.

On the Central Marketing site there is a section titled "Panel Documentation" this includes acceptance letters and other information, hopefully this will help you with your future searching. Please send me any details not saved here.
