Over the past twelve months I’ve been keen to build on our tendering capabilities for large business opportunities, so with the support of the Senior Management Team I have been developing the Smart Solutions Sales Tendering Team, to actively monitor and search for tender opportunities under the European OJEC The following are our TOP TEN account wins, starting with our newest, most prestigious and largest account win to date: Kier MayGurney Municipal Environmental Sector For the supply of municipal drivers, loaders, cleansing crews and grounds maintenance, this is a three year contract starting in July with an estimated turnover value in excess of £18m and the mobilisation of 450 – 600 new staff is beginning right now. Amgen Rhonda Cynon Taff County Council Municipal Environmental Sector This was our first successful win from the OJEC process, and first direct council contract for supply of a fully managed service for over 90 staff to their Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Hirwaun, South Wales. Craven District Council North Yorkshire Municipal Environmental Sector Our second win under the OJEC process for the supply of municipal drivers and loaders and we are just completing mobilisation. It’s estimated turnover value is £350k a year over a three year contract. Amey Cespa Household Recycling Centres (HRC) With contracts rolling out next month to Amey’s Civic Amenities sites, (CA) and already engaging over 90 staff across its MRF and MBT sites, and with an annual turnover value of around £300k a year, this is a really exciting growth client. Monoworld Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire Municipal Environmental Sector A contract win to supply all staff into a mixed film MRF that also includes mixed bottle sorting, recovery and wash facility. This three year managed service contract has an estimated turnover value of £3m. Additionally... Urbaser Basildon A contract win to supply pickers, drivers, and operational personnel to their Municipal Biological Treatment Plant (MBT). With mobilisiation now completed, this is a potentially four year contract worth an estimated first year turnover value of £500k. South Derbyshire Council As of February Smart Solutions has been on the local council framework contract for four years to supply drivers, loaders, street cleansers, motor mechanics and administration staff. New national accounts: Raymond Brown – wood recycling centres across the UK. C.K. Distribution – delivery, collection and recycling of municipal bins.
