FBLA Officers Attend Fall Leadership The Litchfield FBLA officers attended Fall Leadership in Kearney on September 25th. The officers attended a general session with other FBLA chap- ters across the state and then received information and training for their respec- tive office position. Some of the infor- mation the students returned with includ- ed service and fundraising projects in addition to ribbon projects they can com- plete for state. Students were able to gather together at the end of the day to work on their chapter program of work and learn about State Leadership oppor- tunities. Mrs. Finley has a Bachelors in Business Administration and Business Education from UNK. She also has a Masters in Education from Wayne State College. She worked in the healthcare industry in accounting and managing for 10 years before entering education. Her experience includes 15 years of teaching in high schools, community college and universities for graduate programs. Mrs. Finley is the Business Teacher, FBLA Sponsor, Junior High Girls Basketball coach and Co-Head high school track. She likes teaching high school to help students be better prepared for higher education or workforce by teaching them life skills. Finley also likes teaching in high school to expose students to leadership and skills through FBLA. Finley hopes to build the FBLA group to a strong, viable chapter that is competitive at the state and national level. Her favorite subjects to teach are personal finance and career development because those classes have a direct relationship for students to the real world, no matter what their plans are. The information learned in those classes are things all students need to be prepared for upon graduation. Some of the other classes new at Litchfield this year are Agribusiness, Accounting, and Business Communications. Her husband is Wade Finley, the Superintendent here at the Litchfield High School. Her children are Adam, Samantha, Erin and Calvin, who is a freshman at Litchfield. She also has one grandson Jax. Mrs. Finley has been a great addition to our school and we hope she likes working at Litchfield.
