October Superintendent Report Litchfield Public Schools October 15, 2018 Recognition of the LEA for the 2020-2021 Negotiations Please see the letter in the packet sent by the LEA for approval of the LEA to be the bargaining agent for the LEA for the 2020-2021 contract year. We are in the first year of a two year contract with them and have already recognized them for the 2019-2020 school year if anything is needed to negotiate for the coming year. Motion: I recommend that the Litchfield Education Association to be the exclusive bargaining agent for the districts certified staff for the 2020-2021 contract year. District Audit The school district’s audit has been scheduled for October 17 th. This is an in-house audit of the district’s financial records for the 2017-18 school year will occur that day. State Education Conference I have registered Bill, Steve, April, and myself to attend the Conference in Omaha on November 14, 15 and 16. Building & Grounds -New exit doors to the west in both locker rooms are in at State Glass. Looking for time to install. -Weight room update and time frame to get it available to public. Doors and Lights update. -Called Miller Associates this week about the cost to survey and fixed the road, still waiting for reply. -Sent out a questionnaire to the teachers and staff for long range plans to see what would be good to discuss or further explore. Joint COOP Meeting Agreed to have another one in the Fall. It would be here in Litchfield this time. Looking at early November. Go over the Copy of the COOP Agreement Handbook to finalize it. Mr. Johnson received $1000 award from Farm Bureau for dedication to agricultural educa- tion. An additional $1000 grant to attend the National Agricultural Educational program. 2. Field Trips a. Sophomore Science when to Planetarium and IMAX in Hastings b. K,1,2,5,6 went to Plum Creek Literacy Festival in Seward 3. Spring Results for NSCAS are not in yet 4. Mrs. Poland a. College Visits b.
