LITCHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING November 18, 2019 Vice President Jim Holm called the regular meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. Members Present: Marie Sweley, Steve Heapy, April Gross, Jim Holm and Bill Howard. Visitors: Barbara Kratzer. Vice President Jim Holm announced that a current copy of the Open Meetings Law is posted on the wall of the meeting room. Steve Heapy made a motion to excuse Mitch Feldman from the meeting. Second by Marie Sweley. Motion carried 5-0. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Marie Sweley made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Second by Steve Heapy. Motion carried 5-0. The treasurer reported a balance of $1,559,346.17 in the district treasury. Payroll and claims in the amount of $216,981.10 were presented for payment. April Gross made a motion to pay the claims. Second by Bill Howard. Motion carried 5-0. In the Principal’s Report Mr. Drew reported on Zones of Regulation Implementation, Christmas Program December 10 th at 6 pm, Trunk or Treat Halloween Success, Mrs. Finley applied and re- ceived Sherman County Grant $2,000 for financial literacy, Americanism; Mr. Kaslon essay re- quirement, Veteran’s Day was a success, One-Act, Winter Sports. Wade Finley reported on State Education Conference, District Audit, Classified Employee Griev- ance, Building & Grounds, Superintendent and Board Evaluations, and Negotiations. Wade enclosed a copy of the district audit to all Board Members. Board and Superintendent eval- uations were handed out and agreed to have them filled out and returned to Mitch by next meet- ing. Report was given on the where the negotiations were sitting. Marie Sweley motioned to move to approve the Policy 402.05R2 in regards to Classified Employee Grievance. Second by Steve Heapy. Motion carried 5-0. Marie Sweley made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 p.m. Second Steve Heapy. Motion carried 5-0. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education will be at 7:30 p.m. on December 16, 2019. The agenda is a continuous agenda and is available for examination during regular hours at the office of the Superintendent.
