Appointment of New School Board Member April Gross has sent a letter of application for the open position on the board left by Todd Wardyn ’ s resignation last month . April is the only one that applied for the position that was advertised for two weeks downtown and in the Sherman County Times . Motion : I move to that the board appoints April Gross to fill the open seat on the school board to carry out Todd Wardyn ’ s term that will end on January 14 , 2019 .
* We will then swear April into the position on the school board . She will then be able to vote on board issues .
2018-2019 Lunch Prices We need to set the 2018-2019 school lunch prices .
First Reading on Policy Changes Recommended by the NASB
Attached are policy changes due to recent NDE and legislative changes . They are as follows : � Policy 402.09 Recognition for Service of Employees – goes from $ 25 to $ 50 for recognition dinners � Policy 503.08 Married Studnt Policy -- needed for non-discrimination rules � Policy 603.01 Curriculum Development — revised NDE Science Standards and timelines

Title 1 . Review of our Student / Staff Memorial Policy
With the unfortunate accident in Cairo this spring the school lawyers advise us to look at our Student / Staff Memorial Policy . We don ’ t have to change anything but it ’ s better to look at the policy now instead of after an unfortunate event when emotions are running high . We can discuss if we would want any changes .
Building & Grounds
� Business room and the main high school halls have been painted . New handrails to the first floor in high school . �
Sidewalk – Thank you to Bill Howard , Todd Wardyn , and John Kohl for helping remove the old sidewalk . I have contacted Ed Chizek and he will be planning on putting in the new sidewalk in the next two weeks to be completed by school time .
� Gym Floor . The gym floor has been screened and refinished . � Tri State Paving has given a bid to fix road on East side of blue building . �
Weight room update – We have had a plumber in to look at the possibility of a toilet and drinking fountain . Believes it can be done . Will be starting the project this week .
