LITCHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING June 17, 2019 President Mitch Feldman called the regular meeting to order at 7:24 p.m. Members Present: Bill How- ard, Marie Sweley, Jim Holm, April Gross, and Mitch Feldman. Visitors: Janice Reynolds. Bill Howard made a motion to count Steve Heapy’s absent and excused. Second by Jim Holm. Motion carried 5-0. President Mitch Feldman announced and informed the public that a current copy of the Open Meetings Law is posted on the wall of the meeting room, and also indicated the instructions for those who wish to speak during the public forum. The Board walked out to the parking lot to determine exactly how far south the road project would go as not to have any miscommunications per request from Scott Lammers. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Bill Howard made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Second by Jim Holm. Motion carried 5-0. The treasurer reported a balance of $1,265,164.88 in the district treasury. Payroll and claims in the amount of $241,962.21 were presented for payment. April Gross made a motion to pay the claims. Sec- ond by Bill Howard. Motion carried 5-0. Matt Drew gave the Principal’s report of Student Handbook Edits, Calendar for next year mostly fin- ished, sports calendar can be found on the conference website which is www.fortkearneyconference.org teachers came in for science work, and Mr. and Mrs. Moser have sent off computers. Janice Reynolds explained lunch prices and federal funding and reimbursements and where we need to be to meet each of these requirements. Wade Finley reported on 2019-2020 lunch prices, NASB Policy Updates due to State Legislation, Com- mittee Appointments (Committee on American Civics, and Negotiation Committee), Substitute Teacher Pay, Building & Grounds, and Superintendent Evaluation. April Gross made a motion to set the lunch prices for the 2019-2020 school year at a 5 cent increase of the current prices. Second by Bill Howard. Motion carried 5-0. Bill Howard made a motion to approve the 1* Reading of the seven policies given by the NASB due to State Legislation which includes policies 203.6,407.07,502.01,507.02,604.11, 702.03, and 706.01 which will have the amount of $30,000 added to the wording. Second by April Gross. Motion carried 5-0. Marie Sweley made a motion to leave the Committee on American Civics the same and the Negotiation Committee would be Mitch and Marie. Second by Bill Howard. Motion carried 5-0.
