LITCHFIELD SPEECH HAS SUCCESSFUL YEAR This was an exciting year for Litchfield Speech. It was the largest team that Mr. and Mrs. Moser have ever coached -- it was also the youngest! We had only two returning team members, but quickly recruited nine, enthusiastic new members. This year we competed at Ord, Loup City, and Centura during our regular season. MNAC Conference Speech was held in Arnold, and District competition took place in Loup City. Our 11 members performed 7 different events, and we saw growth in every single one! The Oral Interpretation of Drama (OID) team consisting of Rilee Howard, Calvin Finley, Faith Heapy, and Caden Holm performed From the Mouths of Babes. They earned 6th place at Ord and Loup City! Our other OID team was composed of sophomores Sydnee Sweley, Kayden Lucas, Seth Willenberg, and Ethan Sohrweid. They earned 7th place at Ord with the script Stuart’s Stepmother Could be the Devil. Other events included poetry (Sydnee and Kayden), humorous prose (Gavin Cole), and serious prose (Kaylee Rosen- treader and Chloe Ellison). Our season ended at D2-4 District Competition held in Loup City. Chloe Ellison earned 6th place in Serious Prose. As a team, we earned 6th place! In all, it was a fun speech season. Some of us are already working on our events for next year. With a team this size and with the experience they all had this year, we are certain that next season will bring a tremendous amount of growth and success!
