LITCHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING MARCH 13, 2017 President Mitch Feldman called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members Present: Bill Howard, Marie Sweley, Jim Holm, Steve Heapy, Todd Wardyn, and Mitch Feldman Visitors: Cody Franzen, Cannon Blauvelt, Matt Drew, and Elizabeth Curlo President Mitch Feldman announced and informed the public that a current copy of the Open Meetings Law is posted on the wall of the meeting room, and also indicated the instructions for those who wish to speak during the public forum. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Todd Wardyn made a motion to approve with minor spelling correction, the minutes from the last meeting. Second by Bill Howard. Motion carried 6-0. The treasurer reported a balance of $728,585.14 in the district treasury. Payroll and claims in the amount of $185,938.53 were presented for payment. Jim Holm made a motion to pay the claims. Second by Steve Heapy. Motion carried 6-0. Wade Finley reported on the winter sports being over and track starting, evaluation of new reading series and no elementary school on the 20 th , many activities going on including FFA livestock judging, HS & JH quiz bowl, and speech, FFA and FBLA having Spring Leadership Conferences, and discussing updating our track facilities. In the Superintendent’s Report, Dr. Maline discussed personnel, Thank you to Leah and Lauren, welcome to Elizabeth Curlo and Mariah Sekutera, Teaching vacancies and contracts, preschool enrollment, legislation, gym floor, long-range planning, co-op meeting. Todd Wardyn made a motion to recommend that the district hire Elizabeth Curlo as a part-time Spanish instructor in a shared contract with Ansley Public Schools for the 2017-2018 school year. Second by Steve Heapy. Motion carried 6-0. Marie Sweley made a motion to recommend that the district hire Mariah Sekutera as a Para for the 2017-18 schoo
