Describing The Banter as the
biggest radio sports programme,
Williams said the programme has
helped the station grow immensely
with listeners here and abroad. The
Banter takes keen interest in the
various sporting disciplines and the
management and administration of
sports.
There’s also a morning talk
programme, Real Talk with Pringles,
the station’s flagship programme
which runs from Monday to Friday.
The midday News at Noon package,
which started in April last year is
now hosted by Kirby Allain and has
grown into something that people
look forward to. Williams noted
that the news package is refreshing
and invigorating because it offers
listeners news from an unbiased
standpoint.
Almost from its inception, VYBE
Radio has had a no-commercial
hour from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday, a full hour
of uninterrupted music targeting
commuters and people out for an
afternoon walk or jog.
Recently, the radio station began
its early morning Facebook Live-
streamed workout programme,
Fit VYBE, which seeks to not only
connect deeper with its followers
but also pitch the health and fitness
message.
If it’s Saturday, you’re sure to get
your spirits lifted as Pringles treats

playing only music written, sung, or
produced by -- or in any other way
involves collaborating with -- Saint
Lucians. Williams says it’s all about
highlighting new music from Saint
Lucian artistes, many of whom are
interviews are usually interviewed

During last year’s Carnival season,
the station introduced a new
hyped-up programme, Breakfast
Fete, was introduced, which seeks
to foster a deeper relationship with
Saint Lucian artistes by helping
them get their material out to the
masses. It was also targeted at
people considering participating in

Breakfast Fete has since evolved
to the point where out-of-studio
sessions are streamed live from
various locations around the island.
So successful was the venture
that VYBE Radio actually hosted
Breakfast Fete during Creole
Heritage Month last year!
Williams admitted that despite
the positive feedback the radio
station has received thus far, the
radio station is poised for continued
success: “We try to continue being
innovative and improve on the
product and hope that we continue
to connect with listeners,” he said.
“When you connect with listeners,
there’s almost a direct correlation
with advertisers coming on.”
