World Mental Health Day 2017
The notion to the word “mental” is just too shallow for many of us.The 'Mental Health
Day' is a day to show support and spread awareness for better mental health and
well-being.On this World Mental Health Day;the Department of Psychology, School of
Liberal Studies, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) organized an
awareness program to break the stereotype of mental health andto encourage
people to seek help. The major purpose of this program was to explain the
importance of mental health and extend a helping hand to those who lack
knowledge regarding mental health.
The program was managed and conducted
by the students of the psychology
department. It was specially held for the
house keeping staff of the entire campus. The
house keeping staff are an unrecognized
support and help in our everyday lives. Hence,
conducting an awareness program and
listening to their problems becomes a social
responsibility for us as mental health
professionals.
The program began with a warm welcome of the audience. The Chief Coordinators -
Dr. Ritu Sharma, and Dr. Neeta Sinha, made friendly interaction with them to make
them comfortable. The event was anchored by Fariburz Irani and Druta Bhatt.

handouts which were presented to the audience. The logistics for the event were
handled by Shivani Chudasama, Fariburz Irani and Shyama Gokani. The posters and
