For the sake of anonymity , she went by the pen name , The Duchess . La Tomatina ( Spain )
Held on the last Wednesday of August , La Tomatina is a tradition from East Spain which dates back to 1945 ! It is just one of the events to take place during a week of festivities in the Valencian town of Buñol . In its simplest form , it ' s a tomato-only food fight to take place in the middle of the streets , and it has been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest in 2002 .

This day marks the celebration of the Romanian language , of which 60 % of the words stem from Latin . The day is celebrated not only in Romania , but by Romanians in surrounding countires as well . These include Ukraine , Serbia , Hungary and Bulgaria .
