History
Skeleton was created in 1913 in St.Moritz,Switzerland. based of a british game called Creasta
sledding. When people went head first on a toboggan then a whole new metal sled was made
and introduced in 1892. The sport of skeleton can be traced to 1882, when English soldiers constructed
a toboggan track between the towns of Davos and Klosters. While toboggan tracks were not
uncommon at the time, the added challenge of curves and bends in the Swiss track distinguished
it from those of Canada and the United States.[3]The Track were originally straight tracks going
downhill the they were modified to make it more interesting Mens skeleton made appearances
on the olympic programme at st moritz on 1938 and 1948, it was dropped util Jon montgomery
reappeared as a mens and womens at salt Lake City in 2002. The name skeleton comes from
the sled first used in 1892 resembled a skeleton but some people say that the first guy that tried
it crashed and all that remains was his skeleton
