A tough start to 2015 season began not knowing if we had enough players.
With only 8 players including four under 10, who had been training with the team the previous season. Help from the girls section, we managed to make a team for the majority of fixtures. But played teams with only nine players for majority. Which is disappointing, as this put a lot of pressure on those younger players to succeed. Players showed character, determination when faced with a challenge, were never un-phased without a full team.
Archie Barnes led by example with some tidy bowling, especially in the tied match against Barkston taking two wickets in his final over for only 1 run. Jake Henderson, batting scored runs against good bowling. Top scoring with 100 + runs for the season, this is great effort for another u10. Max Lorimer was always a hand full to batsmen with his leg spin, he bowled with accuracy and a lot of turn. Oliver Clarke once he got over his nerves of playing up an age, caused problems with his straight bowling, he could also score runs. George Fisher deserves credit for his determination to stay at the crease while wickets fell around him. Scoring double figures 3 / 4 times. Steven Markham wicket keeping skills were to be a great foil for majority of his teams bowlers, giving opposition players no time to return to the crease if they wandered over that white line.
Masie Lee, this young lady deserves a lot of thanks for pointing me in the direction of the girls. She found the team three more players who were very keen to help out. The Sabin sisters Ellie and Hanna, the silky fielding skills of Ellie in the outfield. While younger sister Hanna bowled with a little bit of pace for u10, good for the girls, well done to all three of you and many many thanks.
Final thanks go to Colin Gascoyne for marking out the pitches, for home games. To Dan fisher for helping out scoring. Big thank you to all the parents for your help.

of 4 wins followed against Boston, Nettleham, Grantham and Bracebridge Heath before somehow losing home and away to Caythorpe. We finished the season by beating Boston by one wicket in the last over, our closest match of the year. Overall in the league of the 14 scheduled matches we played 13, winning 8, losing 4 and tying 1. This meant we were equal on points with Caythorpe in runners up.
I have not mentioned any individuals in the above, as every single player who played contributed to the team when they batted, bowled or in the field.
We started the season with our county cup match away to Bourne and were soundly beaten by the team that went onto win the cup.
In the league we started with defeat to Woodhall Spa the eventual league winners, after this we tied with Barkston. Then we had a run of 3 wins against Grantham, Nettleham and Barkston. Our match against Bracebridge Heath was postponed before another defeat to Woodhall Spa although we did push them hard. After this a run
Although the team was a fairly settled side there was only 1 ever present and there were 22 players that represented the team in 2015. The improvement in the side during the season, both in individual performances and as a collective unit was evident to see.
I would like to thank Ian & Joyce for scoring our matches.
