The Return of Ladycats Basketball in 2021

A and preparing for the basketball competitions against other schools . The girls ’ basketball team , also known as ladycats , will compete against other schools with new players and coaches . According to coach Shandrea , the girls train every day unless the weather is unsuitable for outdoor activities .

Mr . Luke also coaches the girls ’ basketball team when Ms . Shandrea is not available . Although coaching the girls ’ team is new for Mr . Luke , he is eager and joyous to help .
After the volleyball season , the girls reported being excited and challenged for the basketball season , due to the fresh start . The first game is against WISS on November 12 , 2021 .
The team gained more players this year compared to last year . “ It makes me anxious , which in some way , I am exciting . Feeling scared makes me feel passionate and challenged ” says grade 8 student Apple Mun .
There are also some changes occurring in the game . According to grade 11 student Subin An , “ changes right now are mostly about competing against other schools and about altering our training habits .”
At first , the girls had a tough time managing their schedule for the basketball training every day since most of the girls have AP class after school . However , girls with no afterschool classes practice every day , making the team better and more prepared .
The team reported a feeling of mixed emotions about the return of outside competition . However , they are motivated to practice harder every day to improve .
