What Should Students Know About Their Teachers ? by Alessandra Sophia Jimeno

Have you ever thought it was strange that we spend almost as much time with our teachers as we do with our family ? As ex-pats , teachers play a valuable and special role in our lives .

Many students are curious about their teachers ’ hobbies , childhood stories , dreams , and accomplishments throughout their lives , however , we are not sure if it ’ s appropriate or prying to ask these kinds of questions . By asking questions , not only do the students get to know their teachers better , but they will also always build better connections with them .
I interviewed some students throughout the school
to find out what they think they should know about their teachers .
Yumin Kim , an 8th grader , said “ I want to know what events in their lives shaped them into who they are now ; not just as a teacher , but a person .”

I decided to follow up on these questions and ask them to my favorite teachers .
