INTERVIEW WITH MR. CARLTON LAMB
BY JACK YUAN
I interviewed Mr. Carlton Lamb, he is the Admissions
and Recruitment Director at Shanghai Livingston
American School (SLAS). He came 10 years ago to
start and expand his previous company and stayed
because he married after. He also has a pet pig at him
apartment. SLAS gave him a special feeling because
he originally thought it would be a stereotypical
school. However, after arriving, felt welcomed by the
entire SLAS community.
Jack: Can you start off by telling us something
unique about yourself?
Mr. Carlton: I think one of the special things about
me is that I have a lot of connections, I know a lot of
people so I think that’s one of my secret super
powers!.
Jack: What are the roles and responsibilities of
your job at SLAS?
Mr. Carlton: For Admission, it includes
communicating with students and parents and
informing parents of the acceptance policy of our
school. Additionally I tell them about the events that
are going to happen in our school. For Marketing, I
have to make sure the school is promoted and
20
noticed, by making sure that people know about our
school.
Jack: Do you have any plans for SLAS? How would
it help?
Mr. Carlton: One of my goals for SLAS is to bring more
technology into the school. Integrate technology into
our learning programs. Also, getting the school to
partner with some big technology companies will be
one of my goals.
Jack: What are your favorite hobbies?
Mr. Carlton: I would say one of my favorite hobbies is
to collect hi-end headphones, amplifiers and sound
devices. I have a pet pig in my apartment and I enjoy
taking care of it.
Jack: Could you please leave us with some
thoughts about yourself?
Mr. Carlton: Well I would like to be more involved with
the school and get a better understanding of the
students, teachers and administration. That way I can
present more information to parents who visit our
school.
