INTERVIEW WITH MR. CARLTON LAMB BY JACK YUAN I interviewed Mr. Carlton Lamb, he is the Admissions and Recruitment Director at Shanghai Livingston American School (SLAS). He came 10 years ago to start and expand his previous company and stayed because he married after. He also has a pet pig at him apartment. SLAS gave him a special feeling because he originally thought it would be a stereotypical school. However, after arriving, felt welcomed by the entire SLAS community. Jack: Can you start off by telling us something unique about yourself? Mr. Carlton: I think one of the special things about me is that I have a lot of connections, I know a lot of people so I think that’s one of my secret super powers!. Jack: What are the roles and responsibilities of your job at SLAS? Mr. Carlton: For Admission, it includes communicating with students and parents and informing parents of the acceptance policy of our school. Additionally I tell them about the events that are going to happen in our school. For Marketing, I have to make sure the school is promoted and 20 noticed, by making sure that people know about our school. Jack: Do you have any plans for SLAS? How would it help? Mr. Carlton: One of my goals for SLAS is to bring more technology into the school. Integrate technology into our learning programs. Also, getting the school to partner with some big technology companies will be one of my goals. Jack: What are your favorite hobbies? Mr. Carlton: I would say one of my favorite hobbies is to collect hi-end headphones, amplifiers and sound devices. I have a pet pig in my apartment and I enjoy taking care of it. Jack: Could you please leave us with some thoughts about yourself? Mr. Carlton: Well I would like to be more involved with the school and get a better understanding of the students, teachers and administration. That way I can present more information to parents who visit our school.
