INTERVIEW WITH MS. MARTIN AT SLAS BY JIN HYUK CHOI I interviewed Ms. Kristin Martin. She is teaching World History and U.S History at my school. Her hometown is Tampa, Florida in the United States. She has been in Shanghai for three and a half years. She is a graduate of Florida State University, and her favorite sport is American football. to do, and to meet more new people. Choi: Why do you think you are a popular teacher in our school? Ms. Martin: I think this is because I care about my student and I work hard to make class interesting and help them to prepare for university. Choi: What are things you like about teaching? Ms. Martin: Holiday, vacation, my students, and the History department at SLAS. Choi: How long have you been a teacher? Ms. Martin: I have been a teacher for 8 years. I love my job because I love learning new things from my students and having many holidays. Choi: What was your favorite subject in school and Why? Choi: Where did you attend university? What did Ms. Martin: My favorite subject in school was History you major in? because it was the most fun and my History teacher Ms. Martin: Florida State University, where I studied was really cool. History and Chinese. My university is famous for college football. So it was really fun. Choi: Tell us about your favorite teacher and what made him/her special to you? Choi: What brought you to Shanghai? Ms. Martin: My favorite teacher was my 8th grade Ms. Martin: I got a job at Shanghai Livingston geography teacher. I liked that class because it was American School (SLAS). I previously lived in Dalian always different so it was not boring. Also he didn’t so I wanted to come to a city with more fun things treat us like babies. 15
