The company started with a leading biotech scientist, Dr. Khaled Al-Qaoud, young and determined biology researchers, and leader and CEO Penelope. Unlike most other similar institutes and companies in the region, MonoJo survived. The team made sure that MonoJo survives all obstacles, whether financial, regulatory, or technical.

In 2009 MonoJo’s seeds of success started to grow as they signed a MOU with the Institute of Biotechnology of the University of Cambridge, represented by the institute’s director and current member of MonoJo’s board of directors and scientific advisor Prof. Christopher Lowe. In 2010,

MonoJo’s success was noticed by Jordanian business leader and entrepreneur Samih Darwazah, founder of Hikma Pharmaceuticals, one of UK’s largest pharmaceutical businesses. Samih Darwazah is currently the lead shareholder and chairman of MonoJo. Today, many entrepreneurs in Jordan come to MonoJo for consultation.
