NaMo govt. on 15 July 2015 launched Skill India Campaign in New Delhi on the occasion of the first World Youth Skills Day which included the launch of the National Skill Development Mission. This policy driven approach to create self-employment for youth & women to win war against poverty & employment and improve living standards of the people. NaMo govt. also launched Skill Loan scheme under this provide loan from Rs 5,000-1.5 lakhs to 34 lakh youth across the country.

In China Skill India known as world's manufacturing factory. PM Narendra Modi say India can be world's human resource capital. . Modi said Indians should be ready to replace the diminishing workforce in other countries. We have to scientifically map the world's manpower requirement and prepare accordingly

Objectives of ‘Skill India’

The main objective is to create space, opportunities and scope for the development of the talents of the Indian youth and develop those sectors which undeveloped. This policy aims to providing training and skill development to 500 million youth of our country by 2020, covering each and every village and town. Skill development will enable the youths to get blue-collar jobs. Create opportunities for all to acquire skills throughout life, and especially for youth, women and disadvantaged groups.
