really didn’t fall far from the tree. Not only did
she kill it, she was super cool as well. Addition-
ally, there was a group of skaters from Chile
that annihilated the mini ramp along with the
street course multiple times throughout the
week; they quickly became some of the most
fun dudes to watch skate. They were all super
energetic and positive, and skated incredibly
fast with tons of power and style. A few of the
times I shot with them the language barrier
made communicating what I was try to ac-
complish a bit tricky, but thankfully when that
happened one of the Chilean’s who spoke and
understood English would help roughly trans-
late what I was trying to accomplish.
Every week at camp, different Element team
riders come up to stay at camp and skate with
the campers. The week that I was at camp, the
visiting Element riders that came up to shred
were Ronnie Kessner and the SOTY himself,
Mark Appleyard. Both dudes were incredibly
down to earth and very approachable when
it came to shooting a photo. Halfway through
the week, Tom Mull (in charge of all media at
camp, and the Worble videos) convinced Mark
and Ronnie to try to skate the Mini Mega ramp
(el diablo) with the assistance of the legend
