These latest awards are the continuation of a strong tradition at Subaru . Every year , Subaru vehicles are recognized for their quality , safety and overall performance — the year 2020 is not yet over , but the new decade is already off to a strong start .
The all-new 2020 Subaru Legacy and all-new 2020
Subaru Outback have resonated with drivers and industry experts alike from the moment they first arrived . For example , this past January , they were announced as segment winners by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada ( AJAC ) in the annual Car of the Year and Utility of the Year competition .
The Subaru Legacy was named the Best Large Car in Canada for 2020 . In capturing the win , this highly regarded sedan outlasted some tough competition , including last year ’ s overall Canadian Car of the Year , the Kia Stinger , as well as the Volkswagen Arteon and Nissan Altima . In winning the award for Best Mid-Size Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2020 , the Subaru Outback beat out a long list of contenders : the Mazda CX-5 , Toyota RAV4 , Ford Escape , Honda Passport and Chevrolet Blazer .
The votes were cast by AJAC journalists from coast to coast , who tested the vehicles during a six-month evaluation period in the same conditions and on the same roads experienced by Canadian drivers every day of the week . “ We build our vehicles for Canadian roads and Canadian conditions ,” said SCI chairman , president and CEO Yasushi Enami . “ It makes us very proud to win awards from such a distinguished organization as AJAC .”

The 2020 Subaru Legacy has been named a Wards 10 Best User
Experience winner by leading automotive intelligence company WardsAuto . The judges noted the excellent performance of Subaru EyeSight ® Driver-Assist Technology and the Subaru DriverFocus ® Distraction Mitigation System . They also highlighted the tablet-style high-resolution touchscreen , as well as the superior connectivity that comes from intuitive smartphone pairing and standard Apple CarPlay ® and Android ™ Auto compatibility .
