farm , became reality — the on-site shop is filled with gorgeous alpaca wool items and the creations of other local artisans .
“ I am truly living the dream ,” says Edward Pickering , as he describes how supportive the community was during their early years in business . “ It ’ s not like Toronto ; everyone here wants everyone else to succeed .” These days , the farm ’ s “ Yoga with Alpaca ” sessions are the talk of the town . If you ever thought your yoga routine needed updating , there ’ s nothing quite like a downward dog under the watchful eye of an alpaca or two — just make sure you reserve well in advance .
To my way of thinking , a vacation should be a memorable experience that is completely fulfilling , yet also leaves you wanting more . From my visits to Prince Edward County in the early-2000s , I would ’ ve never guessed that this part of Ontario would go on to become such a must-visit destination . Yet , here we are , an afternoon of swimming in the books , full stomachs , a chilled glass in hand , sitting on the deck outside our log cabin , watching the sun sink over a farmer ’ s field . We ’ re torn , though . Do we stay where we are and continue to soak in the atmosphere ? Or do we rush to our phones and book for next year before it ’ s too late ?
