For more than a decade now , the Subaru brand and vehicles have figured prominently in the results , winning countless awards along the way .
Earlier this year , the Subaru reputation for longevity was further supported by another respected third-party , IHS Markit ®, one of the leading information services companies in the world . According to their network of more than 5,000 analysts , data scientists , financial experts and industry specialists , 96.7 % of Subaru models sold in Canada over the past 10 years ( 2011-20 ) are still on the road today .

A short story on longevity
In addition , all of the Subaru models that have been on the market since 2011 have similarly impressive longevity .
The Subaru Outback and Subaru Forester are the strongest of the strong , with 97.2 % and 97.1 % ( respectively ), of new models sold in Canada from 2011-20 still operating . The Subaru Impreza and Subaru Legacy are next in line , with 95.8 % and 95.5 % ( respectively ), of new models sold here during this same period still on the road .
Even the Subaru WRX / WRX STI performs incredibly well in this regard , despite its owners being considered a bit more , shall we say , enthusiastic in their driving . For all of these models sold in Canada from 2011-20 , the overwhelming majority ( 94.4 %) are still on the road today .
IHS Markit was formed in 2016 when leading US-based information services provider IHS merged with UK-based Markit . With its headquarters now in London , England , this multi-national company has many subsidiaries in information services around the world , some of which date back to the late-1700s . Their collective expertise spans many industries , including finance , energy and transportation .
Of course , anyone familiar with Subaru vehicles probably doesn ’ t need to be reminded of how reliable and durable they are . But it ’ s still comforting to know that a number of third-party experts are out there , confirming a reputation for admirable longevity .
