SUBARU 360° SUBARU 360° THE EDGE OF NUIT On September 30, Subaru Canada was a proud participant in Nuit Blanche Toronto, showing support for this world-renowned cultural event for the fifth year in a row. The concept of Nuit Blanche began in Nantes, France, in 1989. Since then, some 120 cities around the world have hosted their own versions of Nuit Blanche, including Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton. Since 2006, Nuit Blanche Toronto has become an annual celebration of contemporary art in an unorthodox setting. This year, the award- winning cultural event once again featured installations all over the city, including one very special display featuring a 30 x 30 canvas and a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Over the course of the all-night event, Montreal artist Gene Pendon (also known as Gene Starship) created iconic Canadian images, taking inspiration from the people who visited the installation situated at Commerce Court. As the artwork progressed, the Crosstrek appeared to be parked in 3D vistas celebrating our country in this sesquicentennial year. Over the past 11 years, Nuit Blanche Toronto has featured over 4,900 local, national and international artists showcasing 1,400 different art installations and projects. Last year’s event saw over 1 million people attend, including 205,000 out-of-town visitors. 8 six star magazine
