Not wanting to call it a day, I cross the
street to Little Jumbo, a mixologist’s dream,
inspired by the original 1882 New York saloon.
The co-founder, Bruce Gillespie, half-jokingly
recommends I sample a concoction called
‘the last drink,’ which is what he drank when
the results of a certain recent election were
announced. His more earnest recommendation
is to speak to the head bar man, Avi. I do so
and end up with a robust mescal-gin one-off
followed by a tasty local Hoyne Pilsner.
