A WEST
SIDE STORY
There were perhaps fewer dance numbers, but just as much love and loyalty out on the
west coast at Summer Meet 2016. Hosted by the once small but now mighty Vancouver
Subaru Club, the event showcased 140 Subaru models, some of which came from as far
afield as the Okanagan Valley.
Highlights from the day included a children’s raffle for BRZ RC cars provided by Subaru
Canada, as well as $1000 vouchers, new sets of wheels, and high-end dash cams provided
by local dealerships and sponsors. The muddiest Subie was voted the crowd favourite, a
clear homage to the brand’s rich rally heritage.
The club will soon be choosing an official charity to support and continuing to participate
in their annual food drive in December for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The club’s
social schedule is full to the brim — there are Friday night meets every week and an annual
Snow Cruise, coming this January 3, sees participants head out on a scenic drive through
the back roads of interior BC. [vancouversubaruclub.com]
