Born on January 21, 1824 and died in May of 1863. He was shot by his own men in a state of confusion. He gradusted from West Point much like Robert E. Lee. After he fought in the Mexican American War, he left his military career and began to teach. But after his home state of Virgina seceded he quickly took up arms and joined the confederate forces. He soon got high up in the military and created a name for himself. He got his nickname at the First Battle of Bull Run. When he came to close the gap him and a fellow soldier said that he and his men were standing like a stone wall.
