Simperium Issue 4: May 2020 | Page 91

When I find time to play for fun, I usually have a single Sim in a modern house. I am a big fan of modern architecture and interior design, so you can probably imagine how many times I do type “motherlode” in my game to put my Sim in a luxurious lot. Most of my Sims are either artists or science workers. I must admit I have never properly played Realm of Magic GP but I often use some build objects in my previews. I cannot really tell you why – I think I was never a big fan of magical stories like Harry Potter books for example. At some point I need to try it. I can’t imagine myself in a position that would make me quit playing The Sims right now. This game is with me for pretty much 75% of my life. If any situation would push me to have to stop playing it, I reckon it would have to be either a powerless laptop / PC, or lack of money for the next releases. I love this game too much to quit it really. I really like the graphics in the game and how realistic they look. It is a massive improvement since the Sims 3. If someone uses as much CC as I do (fun fact: I have almost 16,000 individual CC files from different creators in my game) – the gameplay is very realistic. Also, interactions between Sims are great and not as robotic as it used to be in the older versions. I don’t want to say I hate it, but I don’t like that you cannot do changes to the ceiling in build mode. It is a big disadvantage for me (mostly) as a wall designer – I have to very often hide the ceiling in the preview of a creation because the ceiling does not match the overall look or it is too much of a contrast against the wall I try to showcase. The Sims 4 would definitely benefit from having a different colour and shape options for ceilings. I am seeing plenty of the great CC ideas for ceilings but there is nothing for no CC builders and this is saddening me. I would love to see that option being added to the game like pools, terrain design and basements were introduced SIMPERIUM 91
