constantly exploring and progressing while remembering where his roots are and what who his fan base is composed of. People that come to deep house and techno shows are a special breed of people. They know what kind of music they like, but they’re not opposed to feeling out new styles. Do you know what the biggest quality that a true techno fan needs though? They need some funky week old underwear that’s going to make them dance like they’ve been injected with adrenaline and dopamine at the same time. This is what Seth gives them, even though his style of Dj’ing his grown over the years you’ll be hard pressed to find a Troxler fan that couldn’t pick one of his sets out of a line-up.
This is quite evident in his career thus far. He’s moved from record label to record label, group to group trying different working relationships with different DJ’s, and all of them have yielded beautiful music and legendary shows. His last venture was a group called Visionquest with three other DJ’s Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves. Four like-minded artists, whose styles feed off each other, and most importantly, had fun together.
I recently attended a festival at the original Woodstock grounds. Besides being one of the best weekends of my life, I saw probably my favorite set so far in my short life. Visionquest played in an 1800’s western style bar/stage that was completely enclosed for over 5 hours. In the world of deep-house and techno DJ’s 5 hours isn’t that unheard of for a set, but being at one of the top festivals in the world, nobody got that kind of time.
in the world, nobody got that kind of time.
