RECTUM RAIDERS... Thanks guys. With a name like that, I may need to explain some stuff to my grandmother, or my mother in law. But anyway. The guys have released their first and self-titled album. And it rocks. From G.R.I.N.D. to VASELINE, the sparks fly all over.

G.R.I.N.D. is a guaranteed to get you dancing. With catchy rhytms, strong riffs and powerfull vocals, the song is bound to be a live succes.

FOXX (I'M IN LOVE) starts with another strong riff and is a real display of what RECTUM RAIDERS are all about. PArty hard, and do it rock'n roll style. The lyrics mentioning bestiality in a song that seems to be about love, might be the second trigger for a chat with relatives though.

ON MY BACK is a pure display of what RECTUM RAIDERS can do. Powerfull rock, melodical riffs and a very dynamic overall sound. What else do you need to start a party?

BLACK RIPPER starts out explosive. To my humble opinion, it's not mastered as good as the previous songs. Especially the brutal start of the song. It sounds a bit as an attack on my speakers. I did like the very prompt breaks in the songs though.

SEXISTENCE sounds a bit more old school rock'n roll then some of the previous songs. It's a bit more raw around the edges. The kind of song that bikers tend to love.

It seems we reached a point in the album where variation is the lead factor. BLUE BALLS BOOGIE has clearly been influenced by blues rock. Being the founding style for metal, this song wil appeal to many metalhead. For me, it's the best track on the album, however it's a difficult choice to make.

Another great contestant for that title is BOULANGER. The intro of the song is just to good to be true. Dancing guitar riddles and a great all round song. And that for a song that is all about going to a bakery shop.

I guess that's one of the main features to the entire album. It doesn't really matter what the song is about. RECTUM RAIDERS aren't really trying to spread some kind of big message to their fans. They just wanted to make a great album. A great piece of music. And they don't always walk the paved roads to achieve that goal. Some songs are pretty straight forward heavy rock. But then you come across the INTERLUDE: DELIVERANCE. If you can manage as a band to merge a fine piece of classical piano, with a vocal line that comes pretty close to a full on metal scream, and you drop that track dead centre in a rock album, you have balls in my book. In general, this album is a great mix between rock 'n roll, garagerock and bikerrock. All in all, it's a great album. Just keep an eye on your right foot if you decide to play it in your car. It tends to drop the hammer a bit.

For me, music is all about having a good time. Forgetting the world around you, and being placed in the world the band provides you with. Therefore, RECTUM RAIDERS earned themselves a 9,2/10
