T he Emu is second largest living bird on earth with E M U height. The Biggest living bird on earth is Ostrich. The Emu is nearly relative of Ostrich and scientific name is Dromaius novaehollandiae. They are mostly cover its range in Australia, King Island and Tasmania. Emu is largest bird of Australia. Emu is flightless bird with soft feathers and brown colors. They have long neck and legs. Emus are second height bird than Ostrich, height is 6 to 7 feet. They are can’t fly but they’re running 50 to 55 kilometres per hour. Breeding time is may to june and fighting with females is common during breeding. The Emu is second largest bird in height and length, height is around 50 to 75 inches, bill to tail length is 55 to 65 inches, females are 60 to 61 inches longer. The weight of this bird is around 20 to 60 kilograms. Emus are flightless but theirs wings are 8 inches long and they flap the wings during runs. The neck of Emu is pale blue and its show through feathers, grey brown plumage. The inner  plumage insulates their skin, solar radiation ab- sorbed through tips. This feature allowing to be active during the heat of the day. Other feature of the bird is feather have double rachis. Both rachis are equally in length, with variable texture. The area around the skin is furry. The plumage have varies of colour due to environmental fact. Feathers of emus in more arid areas with red soils.
