Isles of Scilly
The Scillonian passenger service operates between Penzance and St Mary’ s and takes around 2¾ hours, giving you a unique perspective of some of Cornwall’ s iconic coastline.
If you are visiting the other islands, onward travel to Tresco and Bryher is available by a small boat( payable locally).
Facilities you will find on board include comfy reclining seats, cafe bars serving hot and cold drinks along with snacks, and open air deck seating. Dogs are welcome in most areas of the ship but must be kept on a lead and to the designated areas.
There are no sailings between mid-November and mid- March.
In March and November sailings mostly operate on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Between April and October sailings operate Monday to Saturday( no Sunday sailings), although during peak school holidays( mid July-mid September), there are daily sailings.
Isle of Wight
Wightlink provide an easy and frequent service between the UK mainland and the Isle of Wight.
Wightlink operate car ferries between Lymington and Yarmouth, which take around 40 minutes, or Portsmouth and Fishbourne, which take 45 minutes. Onboard facilities on the car ferries include spacious lounges with comfortable seating, panoramic windows, food and drink outlets, and large sundecks. Some of the ships on the Fishbourne route also have a children’ s play area.
A foot passenger catamaran operates between Portsmouth and Ryde, taking 22 minutes. The vessel has spacious passenger lounges, bicycle racks and a sun deck, but no food and drink facilities due to the journey time.
Red Funnel offer a foot passenger catamaran service between Southampton and West Cowes, which has a journey time of 28 minutes. Additionally, there is a traditional ferry operating between Southampton and East Cowes which gives you the option of taking your own car, and has a journey time of an hour.
Isle of Man
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company offer a choice of sailings across the Irish Sea. You can travel from Liverpool on the high speed sea cat service( Manannan), which has a journey time of 2¾ hours. Alternatively, the Manxman ferry is also available from Liverpool and takes 4¼ hours. Liverpool routes operate daily from April to October and on weekends throughout the winter.
You can also travel from Heysham on the Manxman ferry which operates daily all year and takes 3¾ hours.
The high speed sea cat service offers a cafeteria with a wide selection of food options, a cinema lounge, a large bar, a spacious retail area, children’ s play area and variety of seating.
The flagship vessel, Manxman, has a passenger capacity of 948 and features a selection of cafés, bars, quiet spaces, a family zone, 40 cabins( including 4 pet friendly cabins) and dedicated pet lounges.
Prices in the brochure are based on foot passenger travel from Liverpool or Heysham on either the traditional ferry or the fast ferry.
