CAPE MAY / WILDWOOD SALTWATER FISHING REPORT

Boaters fishing the Wildwood and Cape May reef sites have reported solid fluke fishing this week on Gulp, squid and mackerel strips. We also had some good reports with bigger fish caught at reef site 11 as well lately. There were bluefish and bonita reported while trolling around the five fathom bank, trolling clark spoons and other small metals on planers seems to work best. Closer inshore there were some small stripers and fluke caught in the back bays. Along the beaches surf anglers caught kingfish, croakers and weakfish on bloodworms and fishbites. There some nice size sheepshead caught around the area bridges and rock jetties on sand fleas, and fiddler crabs on tog jigs. The offshore crews reported good yellowfin fishing at the Wilmington and Baltimore canyons while on the troll this week. Crabbing remains good in the back bays behind Wildwood, lots of nice size blue claws have been caught lately. Tight lines, Cape May Bait & Tackle.
