NOTES
WE ALL BELONG TO THE MOST IMPORTANT PROFESSION IN THE WORLD , BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY , IN SHERMAN ISD , WE BELONG TO THE BEARCAT FAMILY , AND WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE .
Throughout the school year , it is important that we celebrate our achievements , remind ourselves of our goals for the 2017-18 school year , and better understand the ways that we are difference makers in our students ’ lives .
Last year , our students :
• Brought home more than $ 4 million in scholarships ,
• Earned All-District championship honors in high school Academic UIL competition ,
• Published samples of their best written work for the whole world to enjoy ,
• Earned county-wide spelling honors ,
• Earned the highest ratings in UIL music competition and represented Sherman in to national music festivals ,
• Earned state and national accolades in speech and debate , fashion design , FFA , and culinary arts competition ,
• Continued to set positive examples by giving generously to causes like the American Heart Association ,
• Advanced to post district athletic competition in record numbers as individual and team athletes , and
• Increased the number of college credits earned through dual enrollment at Grayson College or in Advanced Placement courses .
