MARY ALICE
MONROE
EDITOR’S NOTE: When I was given the chance to talk to one of my
all-time favorite authors, Mary Alice Monroe, about her newest work,
we were just hours away from heading to press with February’s Annual Love & Marriage Issue. In this issue that celebrates love and marriage, I was thrilled that I could announce the release of A Lowcountry
Wedding (fourth in her Lowcountry Summer Series). I couldn’t pass up
the opportunity to talk with her, though I knew we would not have
time for a full interview.
With that in mind, I was inspired by our theme this month to ask
Mary Alice if she would mind getting personal with me about the subject in which most of us never stop believing or hoping…that beautiful four-letter word, followed by the thing about which we begin
dreaming while pigtails dangle alongside our innocent faces.
If you are a Mary Alice Monroe fan, you will love, as I did, hearing her own personal thoughts on love and marriage. If you have yet
to discover this wonderful author, you should first start reading her
works right away. My suggestion is to start at the top- with her first
book—and keep going. If you are like me and so many others, you will
not stop until you’ve read the last one. Then, you will anxiously await
the next release. Either way, fan or nay, her thoughts on this month’s
She Magazine focus, Love & Marriage, are both wise and thought provoking. So, enjoy!
