I wholeheartedly believe that the mentored research training and experience offered through MSRTP enhances our medical students’ research capacity, self-directed learning, oral and written communication, and professionalism. Above all, integrating the research experience and medical knowledge equips our students with analytical thinking, which is a necessary skill for a competent physician to practice evidence-based medicine.
My twenty years of experience with MSRTP has taught me that students also seem to have a positive attitude when they understand that their medical education and research training are closely linked. And MEP students have conveyed one constant message throughout these years: they want to have a chance to begin research earlier in their curriculum.
