2022
After 32 years of inspired leadership, David Harris steps down as AJC CEO, passing the helm to former Congressman Ted Deutch( pictured above), a lifelong Jewish and pro-Israel activist. During his 12 years in Congress, Ted fought tirelessly to battle antisemitism and worked to advance U. S.-Israel relations. As AJC CEO, he has built upon AJC’ s strong foundation and been a leading voice in the fight against global antisemitism and in support of Israel.
2023
After successfully urging governments worldwide to develop national action plans to combat antisemitism, AJC advocates for the U. S. government to follow suit. And in May 2023, the White House releases the first-ever U. S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. Dozens of the action items in the plan are direct AJC recommendations. AJC has long championed a national antisemitism strategy, emphasizing a comprehensive, whole-of-society approach as essential to the fight.
