Shaping History: AJC’ s Decades of Advocacy for the Jewish People
In 1906, a group of visionary American Jews— industrialists, bankers, lawyers, judges, professors, and rabbis— created a new Jewish organization, American Jewish Committee. They would go on to change history. The scope and depth of AJC’ s accomplishments in the decades that followed were fueled from the start by bold ideas, coupled with innovation and perseverance.
Today, the Jewish community confronts a range of difficult issues. There are no easy answers. But this timeline illustrates that complex challenges are not new to us. AJC has always had the vision and courage to reimagine a brighter future for the Jewish people and the world. And, with the help of friends and partners, we continue to engage in the pathbreaking work that will make this future a reality.
