Learning Strand:
The learning strand that this article relates to is business, trade, and economy. It falls underneath the border control category because the Canadians are bringing a large number of Syrians across the border and they are increasing the population of Canada. There are more people that will contribute to Canadian economy and there has to be more jobs provided for the new settlers. They now have the potential to help in the development of Canadian economy and bring success into it
Thoughts and opinions:
My opinion on this article is that I support the help that Canada has provided to the Syrians. They should be helping the refugees because they have lost their home, life, and happiness and as humans it is our duty to help one another out. Although accepting a large number of refugees could affect the Canadian economy because there is larger population. The Canadians will have a harder time finding jobs due to their being more people in the search for jobs across Canada. It may lead to more people in Canada being unemployed and could bring a downfall to the nation.
