Quebec, Ontario ready to accept 16,000 Syrian refugees, as Saskatchewan balks
Summary of article:
The Canadian government plans to accept approximately 25,000 refugees into Canada after all the attacks and violence happening to these citizens back home. The refugees will be spread across Ottawa, Ontario, and Quebec. Although Saskatchewan’s premier does not agree to take in all the refugees due to the refugee screening process that may not take place. She feels that it may be dangerous to accept a large number of people all at once because there is a chance that terrorists or danger can enter the country and it can put Canada into harm. It has been said that Quebec’s government will be checking the refugee’s records and history and there will be security checks to make sure there are no links to any terrorism. The Canadian governments and leaders are still in discussion as to where all the refugees will settle, but their overall goal is to help the Syrians relive a peaceful life without bringing harm or violence to Canadians or the refugees. They want to make Canada a safe environment to live in for all.
