Chapter One
Having lived in Sunset Ridge for the past five years he knew
everyone and she was definitely not from around here. Who
was she? He wondered, as he sat in the waiting room. What
happened to her?
Looking at her reminded him so much of… no, no he won’t
think of that right now. It’s been years since he thought of that
horrible night and it was a task to put it behind him. With this,
s tranger memories he would rather not remember, threatened to
reemerge.
Shaking it off, Travis stood up and began pacing again, hoping
that by moving, he could stop his mind from wandering. He was
interrupted by the arrival of the Doctor.
“Dr. Singh… how is she?” Travis asked the resident.
The doctor gave Travis a worried look. “I am afraid the next 24
hours is going to be very critical for her. Amongst all her
injuries, the most worrying one is the skull fracture she suffered
to the right side of her head. We can only know the extent of the
damage after she regains consciousness. Apart from that she
suffered multiple fractures to her right leg and left arm. She also
had multiple contusions on her body. By the look of things, I
would say she was the victim of a vehicular accident, as we also
found shards of glass embedded in her skin. The good thing is,
she does not have many internal injuries, but that is not saying
much.”
“Oh my God!” Travis said in a worried tone.
