However, we also explore within the UK meaning
that our extra-curricular offer is an accessible one.
Our Art students visit museums and workshops, Year
7 students go to PGL , A Level Biologists to Brandon
Marsh and Borden Nursery, and there are lots of
sports fixtures and activities across the region that
SGGS take part in with much success.
work experience and career development links, but
also by taking part in our annual celebrations of
school life, such as our Awards After-Party or our
Last Night of the proms event. Being a part of a
network of successful women who share the unique
experiences of an education at SGGS enables our
students to connect socially and professionally.
Closer to home, we are regular competitors in Maths
Challenge, and poetry and speaki ng competitions
including the Shakespeare Literary Festival. Public
speaking and presenting is a valuable life skill, and
SGGS has been taking part in the Youth Speaks
competition for several years, with terrific results.
We also host our annual Year 9 STEM Day, and take
part in the Green Power Programme with Warwick
University. While in school there are a number of
sports, arts, music, drama and science clubs and
societies to encourage students to get involved.
Exploring the world beyond Stratford is also central
to our philosophy and this is achieved via the
curriculum as our staff encourage students to see
the world beyond the school gates. This ethos is
enhanced by our extra-curricular provision. Your
daughter is likely to have the opportunity to take
part in a residential trip during her time here. Some of
our students have enriched their education through
journeying as far as Costa Rica, Borneo, India and
China. We are proud to have recently offered an MFL
exchange programme for GCSE and A Level language
students as well as trips to CERN in Switzerland,
Berlin for History and to New York for a Jazz trip.
