Strategic Plan Timeline
Methodology
To ensure a balance of perspective and experience that represents the many facets of the institutions and organizations that intersect with SFCN ’ s purpose , input was gathered from a broad range of parties , including members , executive co-chairs , key stakeholders , and consultants .
The collection of input and ideas that shaped the Strategic Plan ’ s Priorities and Initiatives required the inclusion of the following three pillars :
Identifying a team of SFCN champions to function as the Design Team for the process . The Design Team had to hold a clear understanding of San Francisco ’ s power structures and dynamics . This would enhance the recommendations for providing access to funding and resources to increase the design of nature spaces and improve nature-related programming across EJ communities .
Strategic Plan Timeline
Reviewing and revising SFCN ’ s core values to ensure the plan ’ s decision-making was grounded in racial equity with clear attention to the various layers of intersectionality .

Final Plan
Uplifting the voices of SFCN ’ s members who conduct the on-the-ground programming . These members have direct and trusted linkages to San Francisco ’ s historically underrepresented EJ communities and provided multiple touch points to vet the recommendations of the Design Team and ensure the plan ’ s final Strategic Priorities , Initiatives , and Actions were informed by their lived experiences and expertise .
