HOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT
Complaints and reports of sexual harassment should be made to the Office
of Institutional Equity and Diversity or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. The
complaint should include the details and date(s) of the alleged incident(s). All
student complaints must be filed within two years from the date the alleged
harassment occurred.

CONFIDENTIAL RESOURCES
Students may report confidentially to the following campus resources that
provide support and guidance:
The Office of Counseling Services provides confidential and supportive
counseling for sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic
violence and stalking victims including assessment and referral. Counselors
can be reached at (757) 683-4401.
Student Health Services provides confidential medical care, by appointment
or walk-in. Student Health Services can be reached at (757) 683-3132.
FOR ANY COMPLAINT OR REQUEST every effort will be made to respect
and safeguard the privacy interests of all individuals involved in a manner
consistent with the need for a careful assessment of the allegation and any
necessary steps to eliminate the conduct, prevent its recurrence, and address
its effects. If the complainant requests confidentiality or that an investigation
not be conducted, the university may be limited in the actions it is able to take
and its ability to respond while respecting the request.
