Children's Artwork

A child's artwork is so precious, as they grow their artwork changes with their development. A gorgeous way to keep some of these memories is to take a frame with a few picutre holes in it, say three and place a piece of your childs art in each hole. You could use a few mediums, such as chalk, wax resist, pastels, grey lead pencils, bright texta's, you can chose coloured or white paper as a back ground. You could also get an engraved label for the frame so you know which year it was created.

Names

To create a lovely name in a frame you can use

many different materials, for example you could use

leggo pieces, numbers, buttons, little cyrstals, fabric

flower petals, beads, rice on a black back ground,

toy cars - such as matchbox sized ones. Try using hot

glue instead of craft glue with these heavier items.

You'll still need to use craft glue for the hessian or

backing fabric. Hessian is great as it allows the

adheisve to soak through the hessian and on to the

backing board so it is held in place without putting

weight on the backing fabric which could distort it

over time. You can buy coloured hessian now and it

looks great too as an alternative, especially in a kids

room.

Christmas Frame

A quick and easy frame for Christmas decorating is

to pop a few baubles hanging from ribbons into a

box frame and hang it up for the Christmas period.

Once Christmas is over you can use the frame again

for something else. I will be making one of these in

the next few days for you to check out and get

some inspiration. It could be a nice way to do a

different door feature rather than a wreath this year..

4

Heart Circles

A pretty frame to create for a child or even with a

child is a heart shape made out of circles, which have

been cut from cardstock. Use three different

coloured and / or patterned papers to create a heart

shape and simply glue in place, you could also make

a name or a word such as "Love" or "Dream" for a

bedroom. It would make a lovely Christmas, Birthday

or Newborn Gift. This project has just been finished,

check it out on the website.

online shop opening soon

When I started Sew Craft Cook, I wasn't sure where it would lead. I believe that if we do something we love, we will attract to ourselves the right path to follow. I knew I loved designing and making things, and so over time have created projects and sourced some gorgeous products to make things from. I have had sponsors come to the site and this has been great. Interestingly though, since the launch I have had many people make enquiries about the fabrics that I use in my projects as well as craft items. I'm excited to say I have spent some time over the past month sourcing gorgeous new products and setting up an online shop so you'll be able to buy the materials needed to make the projects that I give you on the site. The projects and instructions will of course remain free, with the added convenience that you will soon be able to buy the needed materials from the site.
