Party Crafts

Each child was given a large pencil case filled with crafty materials, texta's, glitter pens, papers, stickers, chalk, tape, foam butterflies and so on. The whole party was spent eating, drinking and doing craft. There was honestly hardly a word from either the Princesses or the Princes. They coloured in their chalk board placemats (see website), made crowns from their craft kits and made up games using these.

Food

The little Princesses and Princes dined on layered sandwiches, which looked like stacked mattresses, filling included ham, avocado, cheese, egg, smoked salmon, and lettuce. they ate meringue peas in a pod, Palace garden vegetables such as cucumber, cherry tomatoes, carrots and snow peas. They had popcorn and a few marshmallows too.

Drinks

There were glass bottles filled with Rosewater Syrup

Cordial, water of course and pots of tea with pretty

tea cups filled with floral and herbal tinctures teas.

The glass bottles were labelled using sticky

blackboard contact. I cut up small pieces using

patterned edged scissors, peeled off the backing

and placed on the bottles. As the children were 8

years old the bottles are quite large, these came

from Ikea (I think they are meant to be Vases..?) and

were only $1.50 each. The children labelled their

own bottles with their names. They also had chalk

board placemats, made with the same self adhesive

black board stuck to cardboard, they were a big hit,

see website for details.

Cake

This was such a fun cake to make, I loved it. I baked

two cakes, one vanilla and one banana cake, I

layered these cakes in a thin rectanglular shape and

then made biscuits to form the bed head and ends,

using boiled lollies to creat the stained glass effect in

them. I then used fondant to cover the cake in layers

like mattress with a doona and pillow to finish it off,

along with the all important pea. More on website.
