I tend to be cautious about imposing fixed interpretations on the scenes I depict . Instead , I strive to create open-ended narratives that neither confirm nor deny speculation . This approach mirrors my own thought process , by which I frequently find myself hesitating to make assumptions and resisting reaching unfounded conclusions . Rather than provide definitive answers , my work aspires to convey the complexities and nuances of modern life , particularly concerning adversity and isolation . Such interests stem from my upbringing in diverse contexts . These experiences demonstrated to me that my most cherished beliefs can easily be challenged in unfamiliar settings . Accordingly , the scenes and figures I create evoke a sense of alienation , whether on an individual or societal level .
Each piece I produce balances omission and exaggeration of detail . I focus on certain elements with painstaking clarity and others with bold simplicity . Such elements seek to invite ambiguity to the work rather than impose singular meanings . Moreover , the figures I portray reveal an intimacy with struggle and oppression , suggesting layers of emotional depth not easily accessed through words alone . I am endlessly fascinated by how the subconscious informs artistic practice and the idea that art can articulate forms of knowledge that elude direct explanation or conversation .
